Wid Chambers is a visual artist living and working in Portland, Oregon, with a studio and sculpture site on nearby Bald Peak. Educated at Stanford and San Jose State, he works in a wide variety of media, creating paintings, digital prints, sculpture and large-scale installations. He owned Chambers Gallery in Portland for three years, transforming it into Chambers@916 in 2008 with the help of gallery director and curator Martha Morgan. He closed his gallery in 2013 to concentrate on his studio practice. He draws inspiration from wilderness hiking and skiing, the history of architecture, graphic novels, movies, television, video, music, and dreams.
